Dr. Ming Fu is Chief Expert of Huawei Fields Lab at Huawei Technologies. He previously served as Director of Huawei Fields Lab and founding Director of Huawei Dresden Research Center. He received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Science and Technology of China in 2010, conducted visiting research at Yale University, and later served as an associate professor at USTC. His research spans operating systems, concurrency, weak memory models, and formal verification of systems software, with a particular focus on bringing program logics and automated verification into production systems. From 2019 to 2023, he established Huawei's Dresden research center and led research on concurrent-program verification, including VSync/libvsync. His work has appeared at POPL, CAV, SOSP, OSDI, ASPLOS, and USENIX ATC. VSync received an ASPLOS 2021 Distinguished Paper Award, and jwmalloc was nominated for an OSDI 2026 Best Paper Award.
